Knock Knock

Terms of Service

Last updated: [date you publish this]

Before you publish this page Legal name, contact email, domain, and governing country are filled in below. Note: Iddaveru is not yet a registered business — these terms currently name Fabio Sebastiano Pulvirenti as the responsible person trading as Iddaveru; update this once KvK registration is complete. This is a first draft based on the app as it works today — a paid download plus a one-time Pro unlock via Apple's App Store, no accounts, no server. Have a lawyer review it before launch, particularly section 6 (liability) given the app touches home security.
01

Acceptance of these terms

By downloading, installing, or using Knock Knock, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, don't use the app. These terms are between you and Fabio Sebastiano Pulvirenti, trading as Iddaveru.

02

What Knock Knock does

Knock Knock lets a visitor at your door send you a photo and a short message directly from their device to yours over a local Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connection, so you can decide how to respond before opening the door.

Knock Knock is a convenience and notification tool. It is not a certified security, alarm, or access-control system, and it is not a substitute for a physical lock, an intercom, or a monitored security service. Delivery of photos and messages depends on both devices being on and in range of each other — it is not guaranteed, and you should not rely on it as your sole way of knowing someone is at your door.

03

Purchases

The base app is a paid download. Additional Pro features are available as a separate one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase. All payments are processed by Apple through the App Store; your purchase is subject to Apple's own Media Services Terms and refund policies, which we don't control. Purchases don't include a subscription or recurring charge unless we clearly state otherwise in the app at the time of purchase.

04

Who can use the app

You must be able to form a binding contract in your country to use Knock Knock, and you must comply with the App Store's own age requirements. [Keep this consistent with the age rating you select in App Store Connect.]

05

Acceptable use

You agree not to use Knock Knock to harass, threaten, or intimidate anyone, to send photos or messages you don't have the right to send, or to attempt to interfere with, reverse-engineer, or disrupt the app's normal operation.

06

Disclaimer and limitation of liability

Knock Knock is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that photo and message delivery will always succeed.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Fabio Sebastiano Pulvirenti, trading as Iddaveru, is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of — or inability to use — the app, including situations where a photo or message is delayed, not delivered, or not seen in time. You use Knock Knock at your own risk and remain responsible for your own home's physical security.

07

Termination

You can stop using the app and delete it at any time. We may suspend or discontinue the app, or any feature of it, at our discretion — for example, if we retire the peer-to-peer transport in favor of a different delivery method in a future version.

08

Changes to the app or these terms

We may update the app and these terms over time. If we make a material change to these terms, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.

09

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. [Confirm this once business registration with the KvK is complete.]
